365 Days of Columbo: Februrary 23rd

365 Days of Columbo: February 1st

Happy birthday to Linda Gaye Scott

Born February 1st, 1943, she's best known to Columbo fans as Alma, the maid in Forgotten Lady.

If you're wondering about the year of her birth in relation to Raymond the butler, who is supposed to be her husband in the episode....he's 42 years older than she is in real life. Love finds a way.

Ms. Scott worked quite a lot in TV and movies in the 60s and early 70s, but only has two credits since this Columbo episode; one of which was in 2022, where she apparently did a voiceover.

Happy birthday to Clete Roberts

Born February 1st, 1912, Clete Roberts pops up in Dead Weight and in Candidate for Crime as—what else?—a TV newsman.

Happy birthday to Andrea King

Born February 1st, 1919, Andrea King appears all the way back at the beginning in Prescription Murder as Cynthia Gordon.

Hey Bart Braverman, your sign!

Born February 1st, 1946, Bart Braverman is one of those “hey, it’s that guy!” faces—he has a small credited appearance in A Case of Immunity as the main protester that Columbo talks with.

The premiere of A Matter of Honor

February 1st, 1976, was the premiere of the 4th episode of season 5, A Matter of Honor, starring Ricardo Montalban as an aging matador whose pride is his undoing.
