365 Days of Columbo: February 3rd

We have a whole bunch of Columni birthdays to celebrate today!

Blythe Danner

First up is delightful Blythe Danner, who Columbo fans will best remember as Janice Benedict, the long-suffering wife of sleezy conductor Alex Benedict in Etude in Black. She was born February 3rd, 1943 in Philadelphia.

Extra notable, she was about 5 months pregnant with her daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow, when this episode was filmed.

Bridget Hanley

Born February 3rd, 1941, in Minneapolis, Bridget Hanley worked semi-steadily from the mid-60s to the mid-90s, including an appearance in 1990's Columbo Goes to College, where she played the widowed cuckquean of murder victim, Professor D.E. Rusk.

Unfortunately, she passed away on December 15th, 2021, at the age of 80.

Thomas Calabro

Best known as Dr. Michael Mancini on Melrose Place, Thomas Calabro had the misfortune of playing one of the lead parts in probably the least popular Columbo episode of the entire series: No Time to Die

He does have the unique distinction of being probably the only relative of Columbo we actually get to see live on screen; he plays Columbo's nephew Andy. In that role he establishes that at least a few of Columbo's family members exist.

Calabro was born February 3rd, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York.

Trisha Noble

Trisha Noble had a small but memorable role in Playback. As "Marcy" she didn't have a lot to do, but she did it with a great deal of charm.

Fun fact: Ms. Noble also appeared in an episode of Mrs. Columbo

Noble was born February 3rd, 1944, in Sydney, Australia and, sadly, passed away on January 23rd, 2021.

John Fiedler

Born February 3rd, 1921, in Englewood, New Jersey, John Fiedler is perhaps best known as Lawyer Daggett in True Grit with John Wayne. Columbo fans, however, will remember him as Bo's cardiologist in Blueprint for Murder who tells Columbo he needs to stop smoking cigars.

Fun fact: Fielder also did the voice of Piglet in 1977's "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh."

He passed away on June 25th, 2005 at the age of 80.
