Blueprint for Murder
On February 9th, 1972, Columbo first matched wits with architect Elliott Markham in Blueprint for Murder.
Troubled Waters
Columbo takes to the high seas for a vacation with the Mrs. and winds up in the middle of a murder! Robert Vaughn stars as Hayden Danzinger, a used car mogul who kills the cruise's lounge singer, Rosanna Wells, after she spends 14 minutes singing a 3-minute song.
The good lieutenant is quickly pressed into service to help solve the case and solve it he does.
One of my favorite episodes and it premiered on February 9th, 1975.
And a not-unhappy birthday to Dick Balduzzi
Dick Balduzzi played the janitor in Columbo Goes to College who was seemingly unable to give a short answer to any question.
Columbo: "Did you know Professor Rusk?"
Janitor: "Enough to say hello and goodbye."
Janitor: "Enough to say hello and goodbye."
Columbo: "Was Professor Rusk in the habit of taking this briefcase home at the end of the night?"
Janitor: "Well, I've never known him not to."
Janitor: "Well, I've never known him not to."
If Balduzzi looked vaguely familiar that's because a few years before he played Don "Crap Game" Rickles' assistant in Kelly's Heroes with Clint Eastwood.
He was born on February 9th, 1928, and passed away January 27th, 2020.
