Happy Birthday to Danny Wells

Best known to Columbo fans as the bookstore clerk in Forgotten LadyDanny Wells, born as Jack Westelman on April 7, 1941, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, was a talented Canadian actor whose career spanned over four decades.

Outside of Columbo he was best known for his role as Charlie, the bartender on the hit television show The Jeffersons.

Wells also appeared in several successful movies, including Private Benjamin (1980), The Woman in Red (1984), Magnolia (1999), and The Last Kiss (2006).

Fun fact: He also did the voice of Luigi from the Mario Brothers franchise.

Danny Wells passed away on November 28, 2013, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

As is so often the case, hat tip to Vagebond's Columbo Sceenshots for some of the images in this post. I've donated to his site, I encourage you to check him out and donate too if you can.
