Happy birthday Richard Bull!
Richard William Bull was a film, stage, and television actor born on June 26, 1924, in Zion, Illinois. He is best known for his performances as "Doc" on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Nels Oleson on Little House on the Prairie.
Bull began his stage career at the famous Goodman Theatre in Chicago and made more than 100 film and TV appearances throughout his career.
You may be wondering why this is relevant to Columbo...well, he also had a tiny role in Lady in Waiting as a detective. You'll spot him interviewing Leslie Nielsen's character immediately after the murder.
He passed away on February 3, 2014, at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Calabasas, California, at the age of 89 due to pneumonia.
