Happy birthday to Molly Hagan!
A two-time Columni, pretty Molly Hagan was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 3rd, 1961 and attended Northwestern University.
She appeared first as actress Ruth Jernigan in season 8's Murder, Smoke, and Shadows.
She appeared again a few years later, as aspiring novelist and creepy adopted daughter fixation, Victoria Chase in season 12's Butterfly in Shades of Grey.
Beyond Columbo
She co-starred in movies like "Code of Silence" (1985), "Some Kind of Wonderful" (1987), "The Dentist" (1996), and "Sully" (2016). On TV, she's known for her roles in "Herman's Head" (1991–94) and "Unfabulous" (2004–07). Hagan's diverse career includes appearances in "Dallas: The Early Years," and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine".
Happy birthday Martin Sheen!
One of the bigger stars to appear on Columbo was Martin Sheen. Born Ramón Gerard Antonio Estévez on August 3, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio his career spanned six decades.
He has received numerous accolades, including three Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and four Screen Actors Guild Awards. Sheen rose to prominence in roles such as Captain Willard in the epic Vietnam War film "Apocalypse Now" (1979) and President Josiah Bartlet in the acclaimed TV series "The West Wing" (1999–2006).
Columbo fans know him, of course, for his relatively brief role as Dr. Karl Lessing, the chemist that Vera Miles smashes over the head with a microscope in Lovely but Lethal.
Beyond acting, he's been active in liberal politics and has directed one film, "Cadence" (1990), alongside his sons Charlie and Ramón (AKA Emilio Estevez).
