Happy birthday to Peter Haskell!
Peter Haskell was born on October 15, 1934, in Boston, Massachusetts, Haskell pursued acting after graduating from Harvard University. He began his career on stage, honing his craft in various theatrical productions before transitioning to television in the 1960s.
Haskell is perhaps best remembered for his starring role as Ben Gregory in the legal drama Bracken's World (1969–1970), which explored the behind-the-scenes workings of a Hollywood studio. His smooth, charismatic presence made him a popular face on television, and he became a regular guest star on numerous hit shows throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including, Barnaby Jones, Charlie's Angels, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Matlock.
Columbo fans will recognize him as Budd Clarke, the bitter chainsmoking anchor man who fatally blackmails Wade Anders in season 10's Caution: Murder Can be Hazardous to Your Health.
Fun fact: Haskell was occasionally confused for contemporary actor Peter Graves.
He passed away on April 12, 2010, at the age of 75.
The premiere of The Greenhouse Jungle
On October 15th, 1972, smarmy Uncle Jarvis killed his cuckholded nephew Tony. Partly to take his money, but mostly just out of contempt in The Greenhouse Jungle.
