Happy birthday to Katherine Justice!
The first heartthrob of Columbo, Katherine Justice, was born October 28, 1942 in Ohio. She first gained attention as a beauty contest winner, Miss Ohio, in 1960, although she was disqualified from competing for the Miss Universe title due to being underage at 17.
Columbo fans know her as passionate mistress/actress (and co-conspirator) Joan Hudson in Prescription Murder.
Still have't figured out how a bit part actress could afford to live in that spectacular house by herself.
Happy birthday to Edith Head!
Born October 28, 1897, in San Bernardino, California she was best known as a costume designer whose career spanned over fifty years at both Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios.
Head was the daughter of a mining engineer and grew up in various towns and camps in Arizona, Nevada, and Mexico. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she graduated with honors in French, and later earned a master's degree in Romance languages from Stanford University.
Over her career she was nominated for an astounding 35 Oscar nominations, and 8 wins. One of those Oscars was presented to her by our own Peter Falk.
Head was the inspiration for the eccentric fashion designer character, Edna Mode, in the movie The Incredibles.
