365 Days of Columbo: September 1st

Where's the cat, Will!?

Will Nye (born September 1, 1953) is an American character actor whose résumé spans TV and film. Columbo fans will know him from Season 13's A Trace of Murder, where he appears as Officer Will, the uniformed cop who answers the Calvert home’s alarm and who Columbo sets to work chasing Seltzer's cat around the neighborhood.

Outside Columbo, Nye’s credits include small roles in the cult comedy Clue (1985) and the fantasy Heart and Souls (1993), plus guest spots on series such as Moonlighting, Hill Street Blues, Murder, She Wrote, and Home Improvement—the kind of journeyman work that made him a familiar face across late-’80s and ’90s network TV.

It's a Protein Bar

Nye shares a birthday with fellow Trace of Murder actor Maury Sterling. Sterling plays the convenience store clerk who sells Columbo the protein bar...and provides him with the critical surveillance video that helps prove Clifford is innocent.

Born September 1, 1971, in Mill Valley, California he is best known to many TV viewers as Max Piotrowski on Homeland and for the indie sci-fi thriller Coherence (2013).
