If you’ve ever watched Étude in Black and thought, “Hey—who’s that mechanic with the memorable voice and the absolutely no-nonsense vibe?” it's Don Knight, born February 16, 1933 in Manchester, England.
Knight plays the "maestro" who fixes Alex Benedict's Jaguar...and decides Columbo's Peugeot is a step too far.
Outside of Columbo he was best known for Magnum P.I. and The Immortal.
He passed away August 18th, 1997.
Sorensen shows up in A Friend in Deed (one of the show’s all-timers) as the Police Pilot flying the chopper patrol with Commissioner Halperin.
Chandler appears in Publish or Perish as Eddie Kane—the mad bomber who helps Riley Greenleaf murder Alan Mallory.

Also born on February 16 is Paul Sorensen, born February 16, 1926 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.Sorensen shows up in A Friend in Deed (one of the show’s all-timers) as the Police Pilot flying the chopper patrol with Commissioner Halperin.
Outside of Columbo he made the rounds of many of the popular shows of the time with multiple appearances on Mannix, Cannon, and Barnaby Jones before finally landing a regular role on Dallas.
