Television writer/producer Stephen J. Cannell was born February 5, 1941.

Columbo fans know his name because he’s the credited writer of Double Exposure (1973), a Robert Culp episode directed by Richard Quine.


Outside of Columbo he's had a prolific career as a writer/producer and was one of the creators of The Rockford Files.

He passed away September 30, 2010.

Shhh...it's George Hoagland's birthday too

Actor George Hoagland was born February 5, 1920. He was one of the Director's "Operators" in Travel Town in Identity Crisis (1975). Hoagland has 150 acting credits to his name, mostly bit parts and often "uncredited".

Happy birthday Charles Gilliard

If you're wondering who that is...so was I. But he's credited as a "Sightseer outside the Wax Museum" in Dagger of the Mind. He was born February 5th, 1915 in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England.

Farewell Franklin Cover

On February 5, 2006, actor Franklin Cover passed away (born November 20, 1928). He was best known as Tom Willis on The Jeffersons, but Columbo fans will recognize him as the jovial father of the bride, and amateur sleuth, in A Trace of Murder.
