Happy Birthday Sandra Giles

Actress and model Sandra Giles was born July 24, 1932, in Hooker, Oklahoma. She would have turned 94 today.

Giles made a brief appearance in the 1990 episode Murder in Malibu, where she is credited simply as the “Sixth Woman.” She is one of the women Columbo questions while trying to reconstruct the complicated romantic life of murdered novelist Theresa Goren.

It may not be a large role, but it was her final screen credit in a long career that stretched back to the 1950s. Giles was known for her glamorous image and appeared in films including Daddy-O, It Happened at the World’s Fair and McLintock!, as well as numerous television programs.

She died on Christmas Day 2016 at the age of 84.

The Voice Behind Dr. Keppel’s Presentation

Actor Peter Walker was born July 24, 1927. Columbo fans may not immediately recognize his face, but they may recognize his voice.

Walker received an on-screen credit as the narrator in Double Exposure, the classic 1973 episode starring Robert Culp as motivational-research specialist Dr. Bart Keppel. His narration accompanies the presentation Columbo uses to entice Dr. Keppel into revealing the hiding place of his caliber converter.

Walker accumulated dozens of film and television credits, including appearances in The Twilight Zone, Perry Mason, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Route 66. But his small contribution to Double Exposure gives him a permanent place in one of Columbo’s most ingenious—and most entertaining—cases.
