Remembering Dick Sargent
Actor Dick Sargent passed away on July 8, 1994 in Los Angeles. Most TV viewers know him best as the second Darrin Stephens on Bewitched, but Columbo fans may remember his brief, fun appearance as himself in Uneasy Lies the Crown.
Sargent’s cameo is not exactly central to the plot, but it is one of those little “only in late Columbo” moments: the Lieutenant wanders into a room with recognizable celebrities, and the show pauses just long enough to enjoy the novelty.
