365 Days of Columbo: August 11th

Happy birthday to a pair of doctors!

Ron Stokes and Tony Regan both appeared as doctors in A Stitch in Crime and both were born on August 11th!

Stokes was born August 11th, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska. Regan was born August 11th, 1908 in Sparks, Nevada.

A Stitch in Crime was Stokes only Columbo appearance, but Regan appeared in four other episodes - often uncredited. He was a hospital visitor in An Exercise in Fatality, a military officer in Mind Over Mayhem, one of the studio crew members in Requiem for a Falling Star, and a club patron in Now You See Him.

Rest in peace, Robert Trumbull

Actor Robert Trumbull died on August 11, 2006. Trumbull appeared in 1991’s Columbo and the Murder of a Rock Star, playing the District Attorney.

It was a small role in a colorful entry from the revived series — the one that brought Dabney Coleman back to face Falk, this time as high-powered defense attorney Hugh Creighton. The episode originally aired on April 29, 1991.
