365 Days of Columbo: September 10th

Remembering Lance LeGault

Actor Lance LeGault died on September 10, 2012, at his home in Los Angeles. He was 77.

Columbo fans may remember LeGault as the police captain in the 1992 episode No Time to Die. He's the commanding officer who joins Columbo, the Lieutenant's nephew Andy Parma, and a collection of LAPD officers in the frantic search for Andy's kidnapped bride.

His best-known television role was probably Colonel Roderick Decker, the perpetually frustrated military policeman who spent several seasons trying to capture Hannibal, B.A., Face and Murdock on The A-Team.

His résumé also included Magnum, P.I., Knight Rider, Airwolf, Dallas, Dynasty, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Quantum Leap.

Long before all of that, LeGault also had an unlikely connection to Elvis Presley, working as Presley's stunt double and appearing in several of his movies.
